of shakespeare, horsies and "clumselthroughs"

"What is a clumselthrough?" I hear you asking. A clumselthrough (not sure if that's the correct spelling - I think the spelling may be optional, actually) is what the cast of a show sometimes does when they're doing the first readthrough of a script. My friend Jessie discovered clumselthroughs while doing "Pippin" this summer. According to her, during the readthrough, the actors get up and move around, doing their own blocking without any instructions from the director regarding their movement, while they're reading. It's usually messy and always hilarious. Anyway, the music theater class did one last Tuesday and it went relatively smoothly. Meaning nobody ran into each other or fell over or anything. Rose and I are gonna be hilarious as stepsisters (according to our castmembers, anyway). Oh yeah, does anyone share my opinion that Cinderella and the Prince are really flaky? Cinderella is just an annoying goody-two-shoes, and as for the Prince, he's all, "Oh, I want to marry for love and blah blah blah...Oh look! A hot chick! Imma marry her!" Seriously? Okay, ranting done...

On Thursday we went to DeSales for the PSF Willpower workshops, which I attend every year and always LOVE. This year they did "Hamlet", which I had never read or seen before, but I surprisingly enjoyed. Okay, so it helped that the actor playing Hamlet was absolutely GORGEOUS (Jessie and I, along with our friend Gracie, managed to get our picture taken with him), but that's neither here nor there. The acting was superb and the sword duel at the end was totally badass.

Over the weekend I helped my friend Maria at the educational farm where she volunteers - she had organized a tour-event-thingy for Girl Scouts and needed help. Saturday was awesome despite the fact that, because of the wind, we were freezing all morning. In fact it was so awesome that I decided to volunteer again on Sunday. ^.^ Mostly so I could spend more time with the horsies. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but horses are one of my passions. I used to take riding lessons but I had to give them up because they cost too much - bummer. So this weekend was fantastic for me, because I hadn't been around horses in forever. I even got to ride one for a few minutes ^.^

This is my new boyfriend, Mac. He's a 26 year-old Belgian Draft horse and I love him.

Kiwi (left) and Jenny (right) are also Belgian Drafts.

This is Princess. She's Percheron and has a bit of an attitude, but she's beautiful.

And this is Margaret, another Percheron, who is really sweet and I loooove her =]
